The bonus free space is going to last for 2 years from the day of activation. Once activated, you can remove all clients (PC and Smartphone) and you will see that the storage is bound to the account. And of course, you can install a new Rom on your phone without the need to do it again. Now throw your phone into the ocean and visit the next internet-cafe and you will see, that you still have 50GB of storage because you activated it with the files that were delivered with the Galaxy SIII.
